Legal — Terms of Service
The terms.
Last updated: 22 April 2026
These terms govern your use of Kanta, a workplace attendance tracking service operated by Staple Software Solutions (Business Reg. No. 202503317027), a sole proprietorship registered in Malaysia. By creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you're signing up on behalf of a company, you confirm you have the authority to bind that company.
Who can use Kanta
Kanta is sold to businesses. The person who registers a company must be 18 or older and authorised to enter contracts on behalf of the business. Individual employees can use the service under a company account.
Your account
- Keep your password private. Tell us fast if you suspect anyone else has it.
- You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- Accurate information — don't impersonate others or provide false details.
- One active account per person.
Subscriptions and billing
- Kanta is sold as a monthly subscription at the price shown on kanta.co/pricing. Prices are in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) unless stated otherwise.
- New customers get a 14-day trial with no card charged. The first billing occurs on day 15 only if you've added a payment method and haven't cancelled.
- Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
- Payment is processed by Xendit. We never see or store your card number.
- Failed payments put your account in past due status. If not resolved, access is suspended until payment succeeds.
Cancelling
You can cancel any time from kanta.co/account. Cancellation stops future charges. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Refund handling is described in our Refund Policy.
Acceptable use
Don't use Kanta to:
- Track people without their knowledge or consent
- Process data about anyone under 16
- Violate any applicable privacy or labour law in your jurisdiction
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the service
- Store illegal content
- Resell or sublicense Kanta to third parties without written permission
We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these rules. Serious or repeated violations may result in termination without refund.
Your content
You retain ownership of all data you put into Kanta — attendance records, employee information, office details. You grant us a limited licence to store and process that data for the purpose of providing the service.
Our policy on what we collect, why, and how it's handled is in our Privacy Policy.
Our intellectual property
The Kanta name, logo, app, website, and supporting software are ours. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them while your subscription is active. That's it.
Service availability
We work hard to keep Kanta running, but we don't commit to a specific uptime percentage. Maintenance, outages, and bugs happen. We'll tell you via email when there's scheduled downtime of more than a few minutes.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law: Kanta is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We're not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, or punitive damages. Our total liability in any matter is capped at the amount you paid us in the past twelve months.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for things that can't lawfully be excluded, including death, personal injury from negligence, or fraud.
Termination
You can delete your account or company at any time. We can suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, fail to pay, or use Kanta for something illegal. When an account is terminated, our Privacy Policy describes how long we retain data afterwards.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Disputes will be settled in the courts of Kuala Lumpur.
Changes
If we make material changes, we'll email account holders and update the "last updated" date. If you don't agree, you can cancel your subscription. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
